The Greater Pittston Branch of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick was established in 1914.
Each branch of the Friendly Sons operates independently. As such, we are a separately incorporated, 501(c)3 charitable organization that operates as a fraternal not-for-profit with a commitment to the promotion of philanthropy and the common good. Officially, we are The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Greater Pittston and we operate/do business as The Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.
The Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick is one of the largest Irish-American organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania. While tracing our roots to the ideals of the founding organization in Philadelphia, we are entirely supportive of the Greater Pittston communities of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
We keep cordial relationships with the two other Friendly Sons branches in Northeastern Pennsylvania: The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County (Founded in 1906) and The Greater Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick (Founded in 1946). In recent years, we have expanded our support and concerns of these branches and their activities whenever possible through sponsorship and participation in their respective fundraising activities and Annual Dinners.
The Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick recognizes a special obligation to celebrate our Irish Heritage and to support the Greater Pittston Area communities through Stewardship, Scholarship, and Service.
